Roadmap for the Future

A comprehensive plan is a long-range roadmap for the future of a community which examines and makes recommendations on a variety of planning activities.

Some examples include:
  • Community Facilities
  • Economic Development
  • the Environment
  • Housing
  • Infrastructure
  • Land Use
  • Recreation
  • Transportation
  • Utilities

This type of plan provides information about conditions, trends and areas of improvement needed in a community and identifies actions needed to address them. These recommendations are not mandates but are guidelines that give the Town direction in establishing a roadmap for future growth and community development. While not required in most municipalities, the Town of Indian Trail creates a Comprehensive Plan to articulate its community vision.
