City Services and Utilities

Utilities

Indian Trail residents are served by several utility companies.

Water and Sewer
The majority of the Town's water and sewer is provided by Union County Public Works. They can be contacted by dialing 704-296-4210. A small portion of the Town is served by Carolina Water Services of NC. They can be reached at 1-800-525-7990.

Electricity
Duke Energy and Union Power Cooperative service neighborhoods and businesses within the Town. Duke Energy can be contacted at 1-800-777-9898 for power issues. Union Power Cooperative can be contacted by phone at 1-800-794-4423.

Gas
Natural gas in the Town is provided by Piedmont Natural Gas. They can be reached at 1-800-752-7504. If there is a break in the gas line or other emergency, please get to a safe place and call 911.

Trash and Recycling

The Town provides weekly service for trash. Recyclables and yard waste are collected on the same day as your solid waste but on opposite weeks. This means you will put out your solid waste and recycling one week and your solid waste and yard waste the next week. Please refer to the Solid Waste Calendar for your pick-up schedule as well as holidays that will cause a one-day delay in service. To find out which color you are, enter your address into our searchable map or call the Public Works Department at 704-821-5401.

If you are moving into an existing residence, your trash service will already be on the schedule. For start-up service for a new home (new construction), please call the Town of Indian Trail at 704-821-5401.

For information on what can and can't be recycled, visit the Recycling Collection page
