Additional forum on Old Monroe Road widening to be held

old monroe road

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold an additional public forum regarding the widening of Old Monroe Road, at the request of the Indian Trail Town Council.

The forum will take place Thursday, Sept. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, 732 Indian Trail-Fairview Road. The forum will include a preview of the planned improvements to East John Street/Old Monroe Road and allow residents to ask questions about the proposed project.

The Indian Trail Town Council requested NCDOT hold one additional public forum on the project after hearing concerns from area residents regarding the scope of the project, the planned “superstreet” configuration and the removal of left turns along the route.

Find more information regarding the project at the NCDOT website, www.ncdot.gov/projects/EastJohnOldMonroe.
