News on Recycling Changes

The Town of Indian Trail is currently looking closer at the recycling service provided to residents as we and municipalities across the nation consider possible changes.

China's scrap import policies and a host of other foreign & domestic changes have spurred ongoing recycling ripple effects that will continue for years to come. China’s ban and tight contamination standards on dozens of scrap categories has upended recycling economics around the world. It further pressured the recycling industries from local governments big and small to state and federal agencies.

The Town is currently evaluating feasible alternatives and weighing environmental benefits with financial ones. While that discussion is taking place, it is important to make sure that we all are recycling properly and taking the following into consideration.
