Indian Trail 2041: Comprehensive Plan Update
Why is the Town Conducting the Indian Trail Comprehensive Plan Update?
Indian Trail is undertaking an update of the Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2005 and last updated in 2013. North Carolina state statutes require that a local government must "reasonably maintain" the comprehensive plan. After seven years since the last update and incredible growth in the area, it is time to revisit this guiding document.
For questions or comments, the staff contact is Tim Jones, Senior Planner in the Planning Department, at tdj@indiantrail.org.
What is a Comprehensive Plan and the Importance?
The Comprehensive Plan is a guide for long- and short-range growth of Indian Trail. The document manages future development and preservation by providing direction to Town Staff, Town Council, Planning Board, Board of Adjustment, other Town committees, and the surrounding communities.
When Does this Update Process Occur?
After the initial gathering of important information, the Comprehensive Plan will have a kick-off and the process will begin. See "Timeline" for additional details.
Who Participates in the Comprehensive Plan Update?
EVERYONE can participate!
Participation in the plan will be provided through opportunities including public meetings, stakeholder interviews, and through a community advisory committee. Additional information on this can be found under the "Update Process" page.
For questions or comments, the staff contact is Tim Jones, Senior Planner in the Planning Department, at tdj@indiantrail.org.
Comprehensive Plan Update Status
The update process is underway and we are currently in Phase 2 (see "Timeline" for schedule).
ALL INDIAN TRAIL RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS OWNERS! Please click on the following link to complete the Community Survey. This is your chance to provide input up front in the Comprehensive Plan updating process. Residents and business owners ask us "when can I make a difference in my community?". Well, this is your opportunity to have an impact on the direction of Indian Trail's future. The survey should not take long to complete and will be open for 3 weeks ending on April 25, 2021. Thank you for taking this survey to help IMAGINE the future of Indian Trail!
