The Your Art, Your Story student art exhibit will show off the best of local elementary school art next week at the Indian Trail Town Hall.
The event, which has taken place each year since 2015, gives local art students the opportunity to exhibit their work for all in the community to enjoy. Submissions range from elementary schools across Indian Trail, including Antioch, Hemby Bridge, Indian Trail, Poplin, Porter Ridge, Sardis, Shiloh, Stallings and Sun Valley elementaries, as well as Metrolina Christian and Union Preparatory academies. Each school was asked to hand-pick 12 special pieces for the show.
“It is always truly inspiring for us to see all the amazing art our local student artists create each year,” Indian Trail Arts & Culture Program Coordinator Susan Didier said. “We are honored to be able to host this exhibit for them, their families and their wonderful teachers, and we know one day we will be able to say that the Indian Trail Town Hall was the very first public exhibit for some very famous artists when they were first getting started!”
A VIP reception will be held for the artists and their families on Wednesday, March 20, before the exhibit opens to the public. Residents can visit Town Hall on Thursday and Friday, March 21 and 22, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday, March 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., to see the display. Contact Susan Didier at smd@indiantrail.org with any questions.
Town Hall is located at 315 Matthews-Indian Trail Road.
