At the Dec. 10 Council Meeting, the Town of Indian Trail said farewell to David Cohn as a council member and Mayor Pro Tem. Mr. Cohn served two ter
ms before deciding not to seek reelection this past November. The Town is grateful for his time, service and leadership over the past eight years.
While it is sad to see him go, the Town is excited to welcome Todd Barber as the newest council member. Councilman Barber was officially sworn in at the meeting, along with reelected council members Shirley Howe and Marcus McIntyre, and Mayor Michael Alvarez. They join returning Councilmen Mike Head and Jerry Morse.
Additionally, McIntyre was appointed as Mayor Pro Tem. Mayor Alvarez will be the primary representative for the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO) and the Metropolitan Transit Commission (MTC). Mayor Pro Tem McIntyre will be the secondary representative.
Mayor Alvarez also presented a plaque to the family members of Tommy Joe Long, who passed away last month. Mr. Long was a veteran and lifelong Indian Trail resident. The plaque recognized Mr. Long’s service to our country and community.
