[ARCHIVED] Indian Trail Seeking Public Input on the Use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds

ARPA Funding Survey Graphic

The Town of Indian Trail is seeking input from residents and business owners as to how it should spend funds received through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA). The public comment period will be open between now and the Fiscal Year 2023 budget adoption in mid-June.

Taking a paper survey:Visit Town Hall at 315 Matthews Indian Trail Road

How much ARPA funding did Indian Trail receive?

Through ARPA, the Town will receive $12.7 million to assist in the response to the pandemic and rebuild a stronger community. To date, the Town has received $6.35 million and expects to receive the additional funds in the next few months.

How can the ARPA funds be spent?

The funds allocated through ARPA must be spent in specific categories:

  • Addressing COVID Public Health
  • Addressing COVID Economic Impact
  • Replacing Lost (Town) Revenue
  • Providing (Town) Premium Pay
  • Infrastructure Investment (this only includes water and sewer, stormwater and broadband)

How is the Town spending the ARPA funding?

The Town of Indian Trail has chosen to take the standard Revenue Replacement Allowance of $10 million, the maximum amount allowed by ARPA. The Town will use these ARPA funds to pay for allowable uses while freeing up $10 million in general funds to be used for various projects in Indian Trail.

To date, the Town has dedicated $4.5 million to the purchase of three new fire trucks for the local volunteer fire departments, as well as $344,000 to athletic associations. The remaining $5,156,000 will be dedicated to initiatives and priorities identified by the community and the Town Council.
