Sheriff Eddie Cathey is proud to announce the promotion of UCSO Lt. Brian Huncke to the rank of Captain. Captain Huncke began his service to the Union County community in May of 1997 and has served exceptionally in multiple divisions/bureaus within the UCSO including Detention, Patrol, Patrol K-9, Criminal Investigations, Community Services, and he is also a longstanding member of the Sheriff’s Special Response Team. Captain Huncke has served as the UCSO Indian Trail Division’s patrol lieutenant since August 2020. Over the next month, Capt. Huncke will transition into the Indian Trail Division’s Captain position upon the upcoming retirement of Captain Kevin James.
Newly promoted Capt. Huncke adds “I am honored to receive this promotion, and I will continue to work alongside the dedicated deputies assigned to the UCSO’s Indian Trail Division as we continue to protect and serve our community”.
Sheriff Eddie Cathey adds “Captain Huncke has faithfully served the citizens of Union County for over 25 years in various roles and positions within the UCSO. He brings with him a great deal of knowledge, training, and experience and he will continue to ensure that Indian Trail’s residents receive professional and timely law enforcement services”.
