Drivers on Indian Trail Road are now being greeted by a message of hope as they enter the Downtown area.
A mural in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month has been painted along the roadway on the wall of the Indian Trail Cultural Arts Center. The mural, a project that took place during last weekend’s Paint IT Pink event with Indian Trail staff and those with Firefighters for the Cure, reminds those visiting Downtown of the importance of Hope in the fight against breast cancer. It also works to drive awareness in the community toward recognizing the signs of breast cancer and the need to support the fight for a cure.
“We were honored to team up with Firefighters for the Cure and take part in the fight against breast cancer,” Indian Trail Arts and Culture Event Coordinator Susan Didier said. “We hope this mural reminds Indian Trail of the importance of awareness, and we hope residents share that message with their friends and loved ones.”
The Paint IT Pink event also included free mammograms and a number of other activities for the community to enjoy. The Indian Trail staff also is raising funds throughout October to support Breast Cancer Awareness.
