Crews working on construction of the Monroe Expressway are expecting to close a portion of Indian Trail-Fairview Road for a week in August.
The contractor has informed the Town that work will likely begin on August 6, closing the road between Secrest Shortcut Road and the northern most entrance to Stinson Hartis Road for seven days. The closure is necessary to cut down an existing hill in the area.
The proposed detour route would have drivers utilize Idlewild, Stevens Mill, Oakspring and Stinson Hartis roads to bypass the closure. The Town will post a notice on its website and social media pages once the closure dates are confirmed.
