Parks & Recreation

You will find no shortage of outdoor activities in Indian Trail, with numerous parks and athletic facilities available throughout the Town. The parks offer a number of shelters for rental to host parties and gatherings.

Chestnut Square Athletic Facilities are home to the Carolina Courts basketball and volleyball center, and includes a town-owned large multi-purpose field, lighted tennis and sand volleyball courts, a unique playground, walking trail and much more. This fall, the field will see an upgrade to artificial turf, thanks to an NFL Grassroots Grant and the support of the Carolina Panthers organization.

Crooked Creek Park boasts an ADA playground, splash pad, dog park, outdoor fitness center, 18-hole disc golf course and a park-wide walking trail all centered around a four-field baseball/softball complex. Phase II of the park includes a fishing pond and BMX course with construction set to begin this year.

Crossing Paths Park features an amphitheater and hosts the Town's summer concert series, comedy shows and family movie nights.

Walking trails are a core element of the Town's parks. Additionally, the Affinity Trail connects Uptown and Downtown. A cross-town greenway project will also start soon, creating a multi-use path through Indian Trail.

Indian Trail is also home to Kate's Skating RinkExtreme Ice Center, a Mecklenburg Swim Association site, and a Strikers Soccer Center site.
