[ARCHIVED] It’s Time to Get Spooky: Get Ready for Indian Trail’s Halloween Spooktacular

Put on your favorite costume, grab your candy bag and head over to Chestnut Square Park (320 Chestnut Parkway) for Indian Trail’s annual Halloween Spooktacular. This family-friendly event will take place on Friday, Oct. 25, from 6-9 p.m. Halloween Spooktacular

Families can begin lining up earlier for the Trunk or Treat event or take part in other festivities happening around the park. These festivities include 1,500 free crafts, storytime by the Indian Trail branch of the Union County Public Library, free carnival-style games and inflatable axe throwing, a DJ playing classic Halloween tunes, a magician, free face painting and the popular costume contest.

“This year, we will have 70 trunks lined up to give out candy to trick-or-treaters,” said Hayden Kramer, parks and recreation manager. “Each trunk will have a minimum of 1,500 pieces of candy for more than 105,000 pieces of candy total! The Halloween Spooktacular is one of our favorite events of the year because of all the kids and families who go all out to join in on the fun and engage with us and their community. We love seeing all of the creative costumes that come through the event.”

Pleasant Plains Dental will again sponsor this year’s event and serve as judges for the Costume Contest. Randy Simpson Produce will decorate the park and supply twice the amount of free pumpkins for kids as last year. All kids attending should be accompanied by a guardian during the event. Please, no pets.

Parking will be available at Chestnut Square Park and the Indian Trail Town Hall on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional parking will be available on Blythe Drive, which connects to the park by way of the Affinity Trail.

“The Halloween Spooktacular provides a safe environment for kids to trick-or-treat and enjoHalloween Spooktaculary the fun of Halloween,” said Abbey Ball, communications coordinator. “With all of the candy, games and other activities at this year’s event, no one will go home disappointed. Thank you to Pleasant Plains Dental, Randy Simpson Produce and all of the other businesses and organizations that help make this such a special evening for local families.”
