The Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO) is working on its 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) update.
According to CRTPO, "The 2050 MTP documents the region’s vision for the future and establishes goals, objectives, and transportation priorities over the next 20+ years to help achieve that vision. This plan considers all surface transportation modes (driving, bicycling, walking, riding transit, freight movement) while also considering impacts to the environment, the economy, public health, and overall quality of life. It also identifies ways to fund needed projects, prioritizes how funding is spent and establishes metrics to measure if we are moving in the right direction.

A Public Comment Period is also open through Dec. 31. A survey, interactive map and comment form are available on the website at www.2050mtp.org.
Community members are encouraged to provide their input on the region’s long-range transportation needs and issues affecting the Charlotte Urbanized Area, which includes Iredell, Mecklenburg and Union counties, into the year 2050 and beyond.
