Street Sweeping Program

Established in response to federal and state clean water regulations, the program removes debris from streets and gutters before they can enter the storm drain system. The removal of dirt and debris from Town streets provides a healthy, safe and attractive environment for the residents of Indian Trail.

Street Sweeping Schedule

Town streets with established curbs will be swept on a semi-annual basis. Approximately 200 curb miles of subdivision streets within the Town, including those owned by NCDOT, will be cleaned during this project. Main state roads (e.g., Highway 74, Old Monroe Road, etc.), private streets, unincorporated Union County roads, and alleys will not be swept. To provide optimum service, the Town asks for residents’ cooperation in moving automobiles and other items into driveways and off the street and curb on the days the street is swept. Notices will be posted online prior to street sweeping taking place.
