Bulk and E-waste Common Questions

Your items will be collected on your regularly scheduled recycling collection day only. You do not need to schedule your pick-up for this special service offered curbside four times yearly. All items must be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on your regularly scheduled service day of your recycling week.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Service

  • What is bulk waste? Bulk Waste refers to items too large to fit into your recycle or garbage carts, such as appliances, furniture, or bicycles.
  • What is E-waste? E-waste stands for electronic waste and is anything with a computer circuit board, such as cell phones, computers, televisions, etc.
  • Can I place my bulk and e-waste out all week long? No. The collection will only occur on your regularly scheduled recycling service day.
  • How do I place these items curbside? Bulk and E-Waste will be picked up in separate trucks; therefore, collection items must be separated accordingly. Your bulk and e-waste items should be placed at least three feet from your roll carts to prevent service interference with our automated collection trucks. Place all smaller loose items in a box or bag for easy pickup by the driver.
  • Do any items need special care? Yes. All lawn and garden equipment must be emptied of gas and oil, and grills must be without propane tanks to avoid possible fire hazards. Carpets should be cut into 4 ft or smaller lengths.
  • Does this collection service include hazardous materials such as paint? No, prohibited items include paint, tires or rims, batteries, construction material, hazardous waste or chemicals, and similar items.
